Hello. My name is Hope and I am senior History major at Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota. I am originally from Seattle, Washington and miss it every day. I ended up at Carleton because both of my parents went here (nepotism practically) and, nevertheless, it was a good choice. I got into history really on a whim in search of a summer job after freshman year but have had a good time since. I would really like to go to graduate school (in history) but do need to get accepted first. I have done some work on medieval Korea (Koryo period) but everyday I am confronted with the fact that I know very little. Methodologically, I like ritual studies and spatial analysis. Also theories of historical memory and place, alongside textiles. I would like to get more into the budding field of emotional history but that requires a certain level of expertise…
